THE VIOLUTION
1. a revolutionary movement transforming the evolution of the violin.
2. a band formed and fronted by a female 5-string electric VTARist.
In May of 2009, two violinists and a drummer recorded and shot a video as an audition tape for America's Got Talent. That video, a cover of "Toxicity" by System of a Down, was uploaded onto UA-cam and went viral shortly thereafter.
In response to the overwhelming number of hard rock and metal fans who enjoyed "Toxicity" and wanted more, VTAR STAR JLYNN created THE VIOLUTION with an endeavor of recording an album of hard rock/metal tunes performed with only electric violins, electric bass and drums. The first self-titled EP released independently in December of 2016.

Nice! I don’t think I ever realized how much is going on in the drums on this song!
Thanks Seth! The studio version has drum fills overdubbed while Jeff’s steady groove keeps going. In this video I’m fusing those fills (interpreted differently) while trying to keep the feel going. I adapted my pattern also to incorporate what the percussionist does in the back ground. During the opening, the groove also has those percussion accents built in and they continue through the entire song. There is no way to replicate exactly what Jeff was and this video fuses both his approach and Simon Phillips (my two biggest influences). Thanks watching and for your comment.
